Default Exhaust hardware finish?

The judging standards say the tailpipe clamp was black enamel.
What finish was on the bolt and castle nut?
What finish was on the cast inlet clamp and bolts?
...and did the original inlet bolts have a square head or hex?
I know the inlet clamp nuts were brass.
