Default Touchy throttle on take off

41 with stock Holley feels like it's going from 450 rpms to 1500 +rpms on take off.
Cannot slowly bring the rpms up. But after @1500 rpms you can.
I used a good PV and AP on the rebuild as suggested on this forum. AP linkage is in front hole.

Is the transition from 450 to 1500 smooth?? Or is there a slight bog before it "catches" at 1500? What does it do if the throttle is slowly opened from under the hood with your hand?(transmission in neutral) Is the throttle linkage being interfered with such that it doesn't open smoothly? Are the idle mixture adjustment needles open about 1 1/2 turns?

I am not familiar with the '41 so this is just a GUESS. I would look for the problem in the return spring for the throttle.

On my '48 I used to have a weird jog in throttle that was caused by a worn out hole where the pivot axle of the accel pedal itself went though tabs on the pedal. New pedal assembly of course fixed it.

One the firewall were the throttle pedal mounts. Between the mounting points is a hollow tube and you should be able to see a hole on the top of the tube in the center unless it's rotated out of view.make sure it's lubricated. I have had some get dirty or rust and make the pedal bind. That style pedal is similar from 1932 to 1947 ford trucks.

I checked out all of the suggestions. The only thing I've found is a sloppy piece of linkage on the carb for the pump. I'll fix that first. Next I'll swap another carb.
Thanks
