Wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a good machinist in the SF Bay Area?
Engine has a crack in #3 at a point close to the bottom of the piston stroke. With piston at bottom, the crack is just above the top of the piston. Wondering about sleeving it and such.

There is a guy on Meekland ave. in Hayward-I assume he is still in business-by the costco. He is into racing T's and has a lot of T engines. He fluxed my engine and was reasonable. I will try and remember his name as I just know how to get there by driving.

Even if you do sleeve it it would be a good idea to repair the crack so it does not propagate into other areas. If you can't find someone close to you try Lock-N-Stitch in Turlock. They welded my cracked block and pressure tested it after repair.

Hubbard Machine? No personal experience but very good reputation.

Yes, Wade at Hubbard machine. Have known him for years, he is one of the best in the Bay Area. He knows the old stuff and will treat you very fairly. 510-537-1885 21030 Meekland, Ave., Hayward, CA

Lock n Stitch also does amazing work but an “A” block is probably not worth the cost of stitching and sleeving.
