Turn signal flasher issues
HI All,
I am having and have had an issue with my 30 Tudor turn signals. The Tudor is equipped with a wiring harness that is pre-wired for turn signals. the issue that I have is that the Signal-Stat 9000 control switch indicators work once or twice before the flasher stops sending a signal to the blue wire for the indicator light. All the turn signal lights continue to work but the indicator stops working. All of the grounds are good, and I have tried a jumper ground to the indicator bulb socket. Has anyone else had this problem? If so did you find a solution or cause?

Re: Turn signal flasher issues
Its hard to find a good flasher today, try to find a NOS. Especially if its still 6v [ 535]. But, I've also found that 800-900 series units can be full of grease [ like vasoline] and cleaning most of it out can fix the indictor issue.

Re: Turn signal flasher issues
Had similar issues first time it was a junk flasher as the guys suggest, second time was a poor switch earth at the steering column.

Inside a typical old USA made flasher (left) and chinese trash(right). See the fine wires flying in the sky on the chinese? A couple bumps on the road and they short to the case. There is also no strain relief on any connection- some are unsoldered and just a pinch between the terminal spade and the plastic base. |
