Default 53 fordomatic

my 53 Vicky has the fordomatic trans and it leaks fluid bad out the front do you think its just a seal . I have an extra trans but am getting lazy in my old age

Probably a seal. But the question is: is it because the seal is old, wore out or hard? or is it because the surface it runs on has wear or rust?

Yes it could be a transmission seal but it also could be the torque converter leaking. Only you have the ability to determine where it's leaking.

i just replaced the sprag, converter "O" rings and the front pump seal in my 53 Vicky. easy job after the trans is out. http://www.fatsco.net/ will have all the parts you need. I talked to Junior and he was very helpful and knowledgeable....

Thanks for your thoughts I guess I'll have to pull the trany out to find the problem .this getting old sucks but it's better than the alternative

i know what you mean.. just did the trans work and swapped in a better EAB and i will be 72 in October........ work smarter, not harder.....
