What do you use as a finish/preservative on running boards. I tried Meguires Extreme Tire Shine on my '41 but the finish has "flat spots" on them. I am not looking for a high gloss, just something to give them a good look rather than a worn, old look. Just want to wake them up.

Not much help for Joe Immler, but I always liked the finish from amorall Low Gloss dressing. I haven't been able to find it in recent years and it is not listed on the Amorall web site. I would like to find a good substitute.
If Joe's boards are the original and have worn spots, I've heard of others using black shoe polish on them. |

40cpe. My running board rubber is 17 years old. Did them when I restored the car. Black shoe polish might bring back the black. Good thought. Adileos Back to Black might work also.. Thanks guys.

Use it on other rubber parts also once or twice a year as needed. Last edited by 19Fordy; 05-05-2016 at 06:37 AM. |

Had overspray on both running boards. Had to scrub them with abrasives to clean off the overspray. Several coats of ArmorAll restored them to a very nice even finish. Still look good after 3 years.
