Default Front Spindles

I did a search back using the "search" link to determine if anything new had been posted regarding front spindles. By chance has anyone yet pursued the possibility of a company manufacturing new front spindles for the Model A ??? A great looking machined product is available for the "Hot Rod" group, but I have not seen anything available yet for the Model A. I am sure we all would prefer new spindles manufactured in the USA.

I prefer good original parts over new, any day.

I have close to 20 good used spindles. Can not see a good reason for making new ones. Rod

After a while a person gets tired of burning up miles and time looking for decent front spindles. You can place ads in different periodicals, search through swap meets, and all you find are spindles that have worn bearing surfaces, necked thread areas, and spindles where someone has used a plain flat washer under the castellated nut, instead of using the correct tabbed washer.
It is no fun when others are out on the road touring, and a guy has to sit at home.
I would prefer to spend a few extra bucks for a new engineered modern spindle, than take a chance trying to find the perfect used one.

Everyone has their own preference. With the dollar exchange rate and shipping charges to Canada, sometimes taking a chance on used is prohibitive.

I'll ditto all the other comments and add that the complexity of making a good safe and properly forged spindle would be far more cost prohibitive than the shipping to Canada if only based on the existing stock of originals.

If you deal with REPUTABLE Ford part dealers I think you can find good clean originals far less costly than any reproduction would ever be.

Ok! then, it would be Bert's in Denver Colorado, or Rowdy for my choices.

Thanks, guys.

I doubt I am even close to having them all. Many of the ones I have fame with alot of back breaking work. A friend bought a couple of dozen front ends and only wanted the axles, wishbones and spring perches. He was short on time and dropped them in my back yard and said I could have the backing plates, brake drums and spindles if I dissassembled them. Took all of my spare time for over a week, but got them all. Over half were good enough to keep. Afew were very nice. Rod

This should jack up the value of used spindles. Bob
