Default replacing exhaust manifold 1933 model B

Getting to to replace the unsightly heater finned exhaust manifold with a standard exhaust manifold on my 1933 model B. I have the gaskets "2 pieces"
My question is.. I assume that I will clean the surfaces that make contact and place the gaskets on and tighten. Is there any type of sealer used?
