It looks like it's running "sea water" into the block somewhere and out of the heads. OK for a fresh water lake but not good down here in salt water. There is normaly a special exhaust manifold the water is returned through to cool the exhaust pipes. They also have a big raise in them to keep a wave from pushing water back into the engine. Down here the the water in the block is run with a closed system through a heat exchanger cooled by sea water. Hot salt water eats up an engine fast. The cooling systems are all flushed out with fresh water each time used. G.M.

I see a hose going into the water pump at the bottom front and another coming out of the heater outlet on the top. Pumps the water the boat's floating in through the engine just like modern inboards.

If you use the whole lake for a cooling system, does your flathead still overheat? lol
How many times have you been told that flatheads have overheating problems? I've logged 40K miles on a 59A without any cooling issues... |

Eventually, the lake starts to simmer and the cooked fish rise to the top. Not as much fun as regular fishing though. |
