Hey all,

I am trying to reach members that live in the Vancouver/Victoria BC area for some info. The better half and I are going to take a small vacation there in sept/oct. and are wondering what there is to do/see/where to stay etc. So if any of you have any info please PM me.

It's been 25 years since I've been there, so there are probably a lot more than what I remember. When we lived in the Seattle area, that was a favorite place to take a weekend off.

Everything above and also in Vancouver you want to go to the Grandville Market. Lot's of interesting things to see and some great restaurants.

Not sure but you may want to check on ferry reservations. Another attraction is the Butterfly "museum". I think almost next door to Butchart Gardens.

Hi Carl, Here are a few car events you might be able to fit in to your trip. Sept. 10 Langley Good Times Cruise- In show & shine. (800+ cars) Sept. 11 Langley Cruise-In Swap meet. Sept. 18 Model A Only Swap Meet. Put on by the two local Model A clubs, also in the Langley area. (about 20 vendors)( " A" related parts only.) Sept. 24 In Victoria-- Victoria Antique Tractor Swap Meet.

If time permits check out the Olympic National Park in Washington. This is especially true if you are driving from California. The cedar trees are as tall as the redwoods, just not as old or as big around. It is definitely on my list of places to go back to.

Not sure how much time you will have when visiting Vancouver Island but the Forest Discovery centre in Duncan has a nice collection of logging artifacts and runs a steam train in the summer. North from there, the Ladysmith Maritime Society keeps a small fleet of antique wood boats and give tours of the harbour and there is a museum that focuses on the coal mining and logging history of the area. Further north to Port Alberni there is an operational steam sawmill and
steam yarding donkey display at the terminus of a heritage steam railway.
