Not sure what shade of red Aurora Red is but I have just taken delivery of a Model A out of Arizona with powder coasted wheels in a burgundy colour, well, they used to be burgundy. They are now faded to a pathetic orange.
I've had some paint tinted to match the car so I'll paint over the powder coating and return them to the original colour. They will stay that colour after I do that because the car hasn't faded, just the wheels.

Powder coating is formulated for specific applications. If the color faded or it chalked it is likely it was an epoxy and not a material that will hold up against the sun.

We went through tons of powder for products we manufactured, but each product had material suitable for the application. For example a hybrid or polyester would likely be used on a mailbox so it doesn't fade or chalk in the sun. We would use an epoxy for electric boxes, such as service centers or temporary power.

An underhood component is likely subject to heat so a powder capable of handling heat with out a color shift or failure would be used. But if the component is external such as wheels it is likely a powder formulated for exposure to sun, potential stone chips, and abrasion would be used.
