Default 28 pickup transmission

A friend of mine has a 28 pickup, which he bought in baskets. It had a AA transmission, however the seller kept it as part l
of the deal.

Can a car transmission and bell housing be used without any modifications?

If not, what are up against?

Yes, a car transmission is the same as was used in a pickup.

You will need a Car style 3 speed bell housing as the AA four speed has a different bell housing.

Actually the seller did you a favor by keeping the AA tranny. It only gives you a super low granny gear, and adds a lot of weight to the pickup.
