For specific selected issues, $5 seems to be the going rate. For a big batch of many issues, covering many years, $1 to $2 seems to be the rate for each issue.
MAFCA's early issues (of the 1950's) have been reprinted and are quite common, leaning in the $1 -$2 range. There are a few special issues (articles) that have a high demand, and bring closer to $10 each. |

It would be very nice to see MAFCA do the right thing and let them be placed online in open domain... say google books... that way one could search all old issues on the fly... The benefit to the hobby surly out weights and profit from the sale of them on CDROMs.

I have a complete set of Restorers, the early issues are in 12 binders. Also have about 200 issues of Model A News, some early issues. They would be too heavy to ship. If some one would be interested I will let everything go for $500.00. I could take them to the Turlock Swap Meet the end of January for pick up.
Send me a PM if interested. Ron Rude |

My uncle had an eighty year collection of National Geographic Magazine all wrapped by year and stored away until his demise. We had a huge crowd at the estate sale and no one was interested in buying any of the magazines. They all ended up in a paper recycle center. The estate sale manager said it was because every issue of the magazine is available on C/D disc
which takes up little room to store on a shelf or in a drawer, and is impervious to mold/mildew and articles can be easily found and printed from the index. Perhaps MARC and MAFCA could do the same to raise revenue and hold off raising the subscription rates in the near future. |

I gave up on selling a couple of fairly complete sets that included the early copies. Asked $300 plus shipping and got no bites. Dropped the price to just shipping and had a couple of inquiries. Found the UPPS won't ship at book rates as it is considered advertising, made me show one of the magazines and nixed the book rate. UPS and Fed Ex gave me an estimate and I told the parties. Not interested, could I deliver, they both would take them for free if I delivered out of state. Gave many to a friend and recycled the rest.

How about a library? Maybe a school library?
