Long time lurker. Have been involved with cars from the age of 14. First car was a 54 belair bought at the New Braunfels swap meet for 900 bucks!! Moved on from there to some late 50's trucks ford and Chevy. Then my muscle car era ,
Then on to a sat nite stock car racing stint for about 5 years. " if Your not first, your last"-Ricky bobby...ha. I currently own a sign and fabrication company, blackout signs and metalworks in San Marcos texas. It was through this that I traded for a " needs a little work" 31 model a 2 door sedan. Nailhead powered, auto shifted, 32 header panel grafted on and 32 grille ( wolf in sheeps clothing ). This site has been a great resource as I'm figuring out how these awesome cars we're put together. Thanks all for your helpful posts and good morning. Look forward to contributing where I can as well. Take good care, Jay |

Welcome to the Barn, interesting vehicle.
I love the barter system, I once traded a Fiat spyder for a stereo system

Wrong place.
Those cars were put together how ever one might imagine. You get to figure out what works for whatever has been done to it. If you are interested in a reliable car the runs 60-65 MPH all day long then we can help you undo all the unreliable and likely poorly engineered mods and put the car back to factory specs. That take more effort and requires knowing how to build to 'race car' tolerances. Otherwise go here for better information: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/ |

Thanks I appreciate it. As apparent I'm not building this back to stock but it will have the spirit of a late 50's build. Appreciate and respect the time and effort to rebuild these machines " era correct" . I'm just a car guy. Got a soft spot in my heart for well built and well detailed cars, early fords included. Just headed down a different path. So yeah, perhaps opened the wrong door ( FNG's ha!) but like I said I'm more of a lurker, reader, listener than a poster. I'll figure out where I fit in. Thanks again for a very informative site and the welcome. Take good care. Jay
