Default 36 Banjo Wheel Restoration

I'm starting the restoration on my 36 Fordor and need someone to restore the Banjo wheel. Who would you suggest?

Go on swap meet here on barn. I saw a gentleman (Alan I think) selling ones he had done - really nice. He is located in New Jersey - maybe he'll do yours or you can buy one he's already done.

There is a member here who goes by "alv" who restores and sells Banjo steering wheels. Have seen his ads in classifieds here. Have also seen him set up and selling in Red Field at Hershey. The wheels he had on display at Hershey looked very nicely done and prices seemed within reason.

Stretch Cab, I have a pamphlet by Jack Turpin entitled "Steering Wheel Restoration Handbook from Antique to Milestone." It includes sections on gearshift knobs and the like as well. I have no clue where I got it but I have had it at least 10 years. I tried various people redoing steering wheels and ended up redoing my own. I had 3 vehicles and redid 8 wheels including one banjo. Depending upon what you are starting with, it is not a fast project and in my case it took a lot of sanding. I believe Eastwood sells PC-7 and possibly also sells a kit including PC-7. The PC-7 I bought to redo the wheels is still sitting on the shelf never opened. I used a product named Dolphin Glaze made by U-Pol that comes with a hardener, is self-filling, can be sanded within several minutes, feathers very nicely, and does not shrink. It also takes primers and paints with no issues I have found. I have used it on wood, plastics, and metal. From the name, I am guessing it was possibly designed for use on boats but several of my friends and I who do our own body work have been using it the past 5-6 years.
If you would like to borrow the booklet, pm me your address and I will send it to you and you can just mail it back when you are finished.

Thanks all. My car is located in NC and I'm in FL so I don't get to work on it that much. I'm trying to gather as much info as I can for when I get to work on the car again after the first of the year. Can't send a picture as I didn't take any when I was last in the garage.
