I have a 46 and the original dash color was a blue/silver, however I do not know if that color was carried over to 47-48.

I don't know if you are a member of the V-8 Club, but if you are, the Club offers a great book that covers Ford's from 1941 thru 1948 and I would highly recommend it. As for your question, the paint code listed in the book, is as follows. 801J, HS White, 133.4 grams, 881J, HS Yellow, 2.2 grams, 805J, Jet Black, 11.3 grams, 884J, LS Red Oxide, 10.1 grams,150K B/C Balancer 240.3 grams,175K, Binder, 84.1 grams. The numbers are for DuPont formulas. I stress that I am not a painter, so I am not sure what all the listed colors and weights mean but it is what is listed. Hope this helps

If want to match the tan color it is khaki. Perfect match. Here's my compass, mp3 player, and indoor/outdoor thermometer painted with stock khaki paint, some spray, some brush, straight out of the can/bottle. The dashboard trim, speaker grill, and ashtray knobs are stock plastic color unpainted. (I used to have my steering wheel painted that color. It was a perfect match of the dashboard. But have since lightened it up to Desert Sand)

One thing I failed to mention in my original post was that the quantity of paint mentioned makes one pint of paint.
