It would be good to know where you live so you could be directed to vendors, there are also several members on this forum that live in Great Britain who could help.

As above, where you too?
Here in England, Bob Froch is your best bet for Model 62 specific parts, some of the other is shared with the US stuff V8 60 stuff, other parts are mid 30's Ford V8 85 stuff. What bits are you looking for? Martin. |

Hi,
Thank you for your responses. I am based in Northern Ireland. I have the dash for the car but I am missing what goes into the dash, there is just four holes and I know one is the choke and the other is the throttle. The rear Tyre cover is also in bad condition and missing its rear light and the "v8" sign from the back of it. I have had a lot of problems with the distributor and I have come to the point where I am thinking it is best to convert it to an electric ignition. |

might also be worth joining the early ford club http://www.earlyfordv8.co.uk/ there used to be a few model 62s in Scotland but not sure where they have disappeared to. I could give you the name of someone who had a couple of them - not sure what he done with them though. Last edited by weemark; 10-16-2015 at 04:28 AM. |

I have a Model 60, the ignition is the same as the big V8 and I have Bubba's Ignition (you can PM him here on the Barn) building me a distributor right now. Stuart Wade, Vice President of the EFV8 UK chapter has a 62.
Another good contact in the UK is Jim Turnbull of www.royalkustoms.co.uk/ . He has 3 v8-60 motors in hsi shop right now But parts are a problem, you'll just have to work at making contacts. |

I just filled in the application to join join the club this morning, think it would be a good idea to join and hopefully get some help there because after this i have a 1939 to restore and then a 1946 one too.
if you could give me the name of the chap that had some in Scotland that would be a great help too. Thank you so much for all your help! |

Hi Jembow.
I think i seen your car before in a magazine. fantastic car! I think you are right parts are hard to come across for them, in particular chrome parts I need and I am also missing the controls and buttons for the dash and both LHS and RHS indicators that go on the pillars are not there. I bought the car in bits and I am just putting it back together so I don't know yet how much I am actually missing. |

Hello Tom, whatever you do, don't even think about converting your original distributer to electronic ignition. All you need to do is learn and understand how that ignition system works and service or repair it as necessary. Electronic ignitions are plagued with potential problems and it may not be possible to easily convert it anyway. Leave it all original is the best idea. Find some workshop manuals and study up on your model. Regards, Kevin.

Nice looking car, over here I'd call it a 37 but over there it must be a 36. Walt

The Model 62 was introduced in early 36. It was never sold in the US, just in Europe. I think it's a pretty car, reminiscent of a Lincoln Zephyr. Good luck with the restoration Tom, it deserves to be done.
Here's a period Ford film about the Model 62 www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtXJdm08djY |

I have exhausted so many avenues to try and find parts for my Model 62. Does anyone have any idea where I would come across a bonnet mascot for one? even a matford one would do if I could get it.
i have made good progress in the last few weeks on the car and I am just missing a few things now |
