Default Speedometer

Hello All,

I'm installing a Tremec T5 transmission behind a y block. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get things working. I have the stock gauge and cable as is and wondered if there was an easy conversion???

Depends on what T-5 you have. Mine just hooked up on my 55 bird, and the guys I bought it from needed the tire size and rear end ratio. Any of the outfits that sell them should be able to answer that question and sell you what you need.

Turned out I needed a gear tooth they don't make, so I'm indicating 65 at 62.5 mph true. Since I'm usually driving 5 over, seemed the best decision.

As an aside, depending on the adapter/bellhousing combo, check the length of the input shaft. Some combos bottom in the crank, which is not good. Others, the clutch disc in right on the end of the splines.

I ran into the same situation as miker when I converted my 57 Custom 300 to a 5spd. I think I needed a 21 tooth gear and nobody had one. When I finally found one the guy wanted waaay too much for it. I think mines off 5 mph.
