Colour for 1921 Fire wall

I am getting ready to install a new wood firewall in a '21. These were originally black...but was it high gloss or flat? Everyone I have seen is old, falling apart and dull black. All body and chassis parts I have done for this car are high gloss urethane.......

If everything else is high gloss, then keep the firewall the same. Mine was Japan Black enamal just like the body. Good luck.
