Default 39 truck grill question

The other day I was over at a good friend of mines garage . he his going full bore ,out of control restoration of his 1939 ton an a half rack body truck . it was a troop carrier complete with the fold down benches on either side of the bed . hoops for a canvas top . the thing is AWSUM 100 point resto for sure . (you really could eat of this thing ) . well ,,,the center strip on his grill ,comes to a point, running down the middle ,so that there is a center line down the middle of the grill-trim . . mine is rounded ,smooth , no point . what gives ?? . I have never noticed this befor . . ex-military ?? have anything to do with it ? . As we know, this is a one year item ,I can,t see two different suppliers . . just thought I would throw it out there

38 and 39 grilles were different. Maybe it has a wrong year grille. I know the one I had was correct for 38 because I had a '39 parts truck. Of course military didn't care which style so maybe they used up some leftover stock on them....
