Default Suggestions For ignition setup

So last night the original starter pedal in my 36 broke and it melted one of the terminals right off my battery. I decided for safety purpose I am changing to a keyed switch and solenoid. What has worked the best for everyone? Thanks

Just set it up like a 40. 40 type solenoid, button in dash to press. parts are available. Plenty of other ways to do it but this is how my 33 was done back in the 50s.

Mart.

My '35 1.5 Ton was changed long ago to a Ford solonoid mounted in the same area as the original switch, wires connect the same, one wire needed to the button on the left side of the dash. Or you could replace the foot switch. ..B.

I don't see where it would be "safer" the same thing will happen with a solenoid if it has bad connections
