Default Ahhhh CRAP!!! dropped a bolt in the transmission!

I was in the process of installing high compression pistons in our T, and the last rod bolt stripped out. No big deal i thought, i went and got another one and pushed the stripped out one up to take it out,......it fell the wrong way DOWN INTO THE TRANSMISSION!!!

how i got it back....

I pulled the hogs head and took the bands out.
I then got an old cattle magnet and stuck it to the flywheel alittle more out than what the regular magnets are, then i turned the motor over by hand and it brought it back to the top!!!

If it ever happens to you try it! it sure beats pulling the motor!!

Yeah that is something pretty much most Model T guys have done, at least those who get their hands greasy. (Of course, if you own a Model T, how can you avoid getting your hands greasy??) Having the magnets on the flywheel helps too.

If that doesn't work you have to turn the car upside down and shake it.

I heard of a chick magnet, but never a cattle maget. Can you let a city slicker like me know what a cattle magnet is and what it's normally used for?

You stick them down the trought of a cow, and they ride in the first stomach, they stay there and collect any hardware they may eat, so they do not go on to the other stomachs

Dropped a nut and washer in my hogs head. No magneto so I just fished them out with a magnet on a bendable handle that you can buy and any auto parts store.
