Default Pressure Cap

I have a 36 ford pu witha 1953 mercury motor, griffin radiator. tha problem I'm having is the pressure cap I was running was 7#. The purge tank would not cycle correctly, I increased the pressure cap to 13# and the tank cycles correctly has anybody had this problem? 36fordguy

Possibly the 7# cap did not have the two way valve needed for recovery.
