Any info on wire size for turn signals for a 6-volt system?

With out going out and looking I think the wires on my 51 Merc. ( 6 volt system with original wiring ) are 14 gauge. some will correct me if I am wrong.---Jim

#14 on the Brakes and #16 on the Tail Lights (on the attached diagrams). Ford tended to use fairly small wire sizes IMHO, I would consider bumping them up a size.

With the 6 volt system #14 would be fine.
