Default Heavy Shock Adsorber Arms

Years ago I got some very heavy flea market shock arms. They are the same dimensions as the regular Model A arms, but they must weigh twice as much because of the extra thickness.

I am curious to know if they are odd repros or were built to fit some other car. Thanks, Richard Lorenz

Are they brass or made from bronze? If so, those are likely the repros that were made in Chicago some 3 or 4 decades ago.

The arms are definitely steel, but they might have come from Chicago. Some years ago I let myself be conned into buying a set of used shocks. The wing shaft fit was very good, but when I opened one up I immediately saw that the internals were a sloppy fit. The covers had no markings on them. Even though they are not marked, I feel certain that these shocks came from the Chicago maker.

I have started messing with shocks again and might be able to get 1 or 2 to work with 600 weight oil in them. To get something thicker, I might try mixing that oil with some O / OO grade grease. If someone needs it, Tractor Supply in our area has generic OO grease. The OO grade grease is very soft and is something comparable to mustard in fluidity. Grade O is even thinner.
