The gas seems to be evaporating from my 1930 Tudor. I have not found an obvious leak. Garage smells of gas. Gas cap seems ok. I keep the valve closed when not driving. Any ideas?

My ccpu did that...but the carburetor body was noticeably wet int the mornings, even though I would shut the valve off and run the float bowl dry when I put it away.....
I turned out that the shut-off valve was leaking..just a drop every few seconds, but enough to fill the float bowl overnight and stink up the garage... I put in a new valve, replaced the float bowl gasket and reset the float to about 1 3/32" on the Tillotson X... No more problem |

Take a white paper towel and feel the bottom of the carb and the fuel lines for any sign of gas.
Also feel around the steering bracket and shut off valve. |

Check the bottom end of the tunnel under the fuel tank (the tunnel that the wires from the terminal box to the instrument panel go through, along with the speedometer cable) to see if it is wet with gas. If your fuel gauge is leaking very much, it will show up here. If the gauge is barely seeping, it may not show up at the bottom of the tunnel, but it will still smell up the interior of the car and the garage.

Gas evaporating?? Maybe not. Could be the neighbor kid sneaking in and siphoning the gas out!
