Default Gas evaporating

The gas seems to be evaporating from my 1930 Tudor. I have not found an obvious leak. Garage smells of gas. Gas cap seems ok. I keep the valve closed when not driving. Any ideas?

My ccpu did that...but the carburetor body was noticeably wet int the mornings, even though I would shut the valve off and run the float bowl dry when I put it away.....

I turned out that the shut-off valve was leaking..just a drop every few seconds, but enough to fill the float bowl overnight and stink up the garage...

I put in a new valve, replaced the float bowl gasket and reset the float to about 1 3/32" on the Tillotson X...

No more problem

Take a white paper towel and feel the bottom of the carb and the fuel lines for any sign of gas.
Also feel around the steering bracket and shut off valve.

Seeping fuel gauge gaskets. Remove the screws and pull the gauge panel forward. Check for signs of fuel leakage. Also check for a leak at the steering column bracket.

If you are smelling gas you are dripping gas. A blue paper towel will show moisture better then a white as dark blue is easier to see then dark white.

One drip a minute will leave 2 oz. on the floor in a day.

Check the bottom end of the tunnel under the fuel tank (the tunnel that the wires from the terminal box to the instrument panel go through, along with the speedometer cable) to see if it is wet with gas. If your fuel gauge is leaking very much, it will show up here. If the gauge is barely seeping, it may not show up at the bottom of the tunnel, but it will still smell up the interior of the car and the garage.

Gas dripping from bottom of carburetor. Will have to isolate the source

Gas evaporating?? Maybe not. Could be the neighbor kid sneaking in and siphoning the gas out!
