Default Sediment bowl

Does the bottom bolt on the bowl screw all the way out on the bottom. How do you get to the filter. It looks like a large nut is tightened down on a large lead washer. Can someone post a picture of one laid out apart?

The star wheel is a drain. It will drain the sediment bowl when turned out. The large nut if turned out will take the star wheel out and also the filter.

the drain only drains the clean side, I leave it alone and only take it apart with the big nut, I keep a spare washer in the car, if you don't overtighten it they last a long time
