Can I use this head on a "B" block?

Yes. Use FelPro 7013 gasket with copper spray sealer. Be sure to plug the 2 holes in the block beside the center stud. Compare the head gasket to the block and the head and you will see why. Search the archives for further info. on this proceedure.

I plugged the 2 holes in the center of the B block when I installed the A police head. I drilled and taped the holes 1/4in. and used alen head sets screws, set them down flush with the block and filled the alen heads with J-B Weld. Walt

I'm thinking of plugging the 2 steam holes with bolts cut near to surface and with high temp loctite. Then have the blocked decked. I wonder if plugs made of cast iron would be better so the expansion rate would be similar to the block.
I don't understand why Snyder's states that a "B" gasket should be used with 6-1 head. Anyone know why? |
