O/K New Zealand Ford owners, what is the best place to buy a Battery for my 1947 V8 Ford, it is running a 6 volt 17 plate battery at the moment which I am having a problem with.

Ian can you buy Optima batteries down there ? They are hands down the best 6volt made !!! 800cca will wind ya flatty over like a 12volt & hold a charge without being used forever .

Ian I have one Optima that I like very much in one car but I also run the small VW battery in another ,a well tuned Flat head doesn't need a large battery . I can get optimas here at dealer rates .Ted

Go the optima, even if your car sits for months it will crank like nothing.
When I first put one in the 33 I thought I would see how long it would crank,so I tried it with the ign off,I gave up after a while as I thought the starter would catch fire,no signs of slowing down. they are good. Lawrie |
