Are the 1932 dog bones(shock links) the same for 32 as they are for model a?

Not even close. It was an all new design incorporating rubber insulating balls with the link sides being mirror images of one another and originally riveted together. It was a dry arrangement without grease, which was used with the Model A design which contained no rubber.

Interesting. Now I know why the ball on a Model A spindle is bigger than a '32. I didn't know that until now.

I'm planning on using '32 dog bones on my AV8 set-up.

David: Why is one arm shorter than the other?

BTW: Roy N. sells the rivets to put them back together correctly.

The short arm are the fronts and longer ones are the rear.

If you are talking about only the dog bones they were not originally used on the Model A as it came off of the assembly line. I believe the '32/'33 dog bones can be used on the Model A. In 1934 the dog bones had the holes on the same side and will not work. Be sure to watch for this if you buy them at a swap meet. I have heard that the repros are junk but don't have any experience with them.

With respect, the '33 links are the a same as the '32 with opposing openings. It's the '34s and very early '35 links that have the openings on the same side.

1928 -1933 are the same according to the parts book

Not in any Ford parts catalogue issued during the period of time (1932-34) when the '32-'34 links in question were used as production parts. The distinctive Model A links continued to be listed for 1928-31 vehicles in those catalogues. That's why the later catalogues are misleading when used as a reference in a restoration; they increasingly list service parts rather than production parts the further away their publication dates are from the year when a vehicle was produced. If one uses the so-called "green bible" published in 1948 as a reference to restore a car built in 1930, they are asking for trouble in terms of authenticity.
