I recently removed this carb from a local mans car.It was acting up,so I fixed the Zenith that had been riding in his trunk since the mid-60's.It has a cast iron top, with a pot metal bottom. It has a strange enrichener??? circuit on the back. That has a broken spring in it and the car either runs rich or too lean. The plunger in it is just jumping up and down without the spring.I have quite a few old Tillotsons,Allstates,Wizards,Marvels,Simmons and such, but I've never seen one of these.I would like to use it.When it was working right the car idled nice and had lots of moxie.

I think Zenith 2415 Hybrid.
Called that apparently as it has the two different materials. There is a Zenith 2415 which is similar but all pot metal. Joe K

Zenith used the round tag seen riveted to float bowl. Have you tried "Googleing" the number?

Allstate/sears/western auto all tend to be the square chambered "Marvel" carb. There are two major types of this either narrow bowl or fat bowl. Both are identical internally? Simmons carbs are available in both pot metal and cast iron. Both are characterized by an adjustment needle in the front throat casting of the upper segment perpendicular to the air flow. Also both have a funny drain setup on the bottom. Wizard was Western Auto's name for the Simmons Pot metal. There may be cast iron Wizards too. Tillotson was another make. Actually available from Ford late in the post era of the Model A. Most of these are Tillotson X for which replacement parts are available. Others are Tillotson F1B which is a good carb with a lot of pick-up - but parts are generally NOT available. And there were some later aftermarket carbs. A Zenith clone is seen without the Zenith name but internally is identical to Zenith 1,2,3. Not to be confused with the early Holly two-venturi which is not marked Zenith. And a Mochi Carb with is an Argentinian variant similar to Zenith. This a VERY quick overview from my personal experience. Others like Purdy have made a more detailed study and have been kind enough to share here. What is it like 29 different variants on Zenith Carbs originally used on the Model A? There are those who can tell which from another in a pile of scrap at 50 paces. Joe K
