Default 1933 transmission reactivation cleaning

After a transmission sits for 20 years or more in storage and if it is an original 80 years old. When it begins running again. Is it wise to change the transmission oil many times? How do you flush out a trans and differential? I have one of those large syringes that I use to fill the trans.
Can I fill with MMO and run quickly briefly to clean the trans???
Any suggestion?

If by "run quickly" you mean "drive the car" I don't think you will be satisfied with the results. First, to do much cleaning the Marvel Mystery Oil would need time to loosen the gunk. Also, MMO is not designed for the shearing stresses imparted as the lubricant goes through the gear teeth, especially under the load of the car. You may damage the gears and bearings you are hoping to save. Your suggestion to change it many times strikes me as the better of the two. My personal opinion is that the seals/ gaskets will be so dry and brittle that both will start leaking shortly and you will likely have to open them up any way, though I read a lot of threads here indicating otherwise.

Put some 20W50 motor oil in it and drive it around for a short time then drain & refill with proper API rating and viscosity gear lube. That's about as good as it gets. Change it again after 6-months or 500 miles then go to a yearly schedule or OEM FoMoCo recommended milage schedule.

I can't find it but did not the ford owners manual say something about kerosine for cleaning the trans???? Not to drive with it..But let it sit for weeks then drain and add gear oil.

I plan to go very easy.... I am glad at least the car is running.
I plan to drain the differential often also.
The owners manual says to flush oil from trans and differential every 5000 miles.. I know to do it every 50 miles for my old car just to clean out the gears. But when they say flush....how do I flush. Is that a drain and then a pressure syringe with kerosine???????
