Default Never have to much water

In 1976 a bunch of us four banger guys went to Vegas to see Ed Winfield. You had to be Winfield equipped to go.

Since I had a pickup I carried a lot of water in the back.

Got the rig running two days before we went on trip and going up the Baker Grade in So Cal had me concerned. Non pressure system and all. And after all, Baker has the worlds tallest thermometer.

No and neither did the others. Just put some mileage on the water.

Did have some other issues though. Jackson Kong built a prototype distributor that ran off the front of the engine. First time it fired was a few days before the trip. We had a "B" distributor sticking up between number 2 and 3 exhaust as you can see in first pic. I was convinced that the problem was with new ignition but I could not convince Wes Cooper or Kong of it. After the fourth loss of power we found the problem. Dirt in the fuel line-always the case.

Here is the carburetor side of the engine parked in front of Winfields house in Vegas

I need to learn how to do thumbnails.
