Default Curiousity kills the cat.............

or so they say.

There has been a slight blemish in Sarah's paint on the bottom center of the rumble seat, it is round I could see. SO!!!! I removed the seats and HARK!!!!! Sarah's rumble seat is a conversion, I believe. Now if someone tells me that the lid body was used both for a rumble and a trunk, then we're OK but......I have the bracket where the lock and handle was at the inside bottom and I can see the handle hole was filled in also.

I shall take some photos and be right back.

Yes, the decklid is the same for a trunk or rumble seat. Someone did not do a good job of filling the original trunk handle hole at the bottom of the lid. That's Bondo cracking beneath the heavy enamel paint. Also, your car originally had a rear-mounted spare tire carrier, as evidenced by the second cracking hole in the lower rear panel. The top bolt of the spare tire carrier was bolted here, while two more bolts secured the bottom of the neck on the body's rear crossmember (beneath the rear panel). Those two holes appear to still be o.k., or the piece was simply replaced with a new one minus holes.
So, your car has gone through a trunk-to-rumbleseat conversion and a rear-mounted spare tire to sidemount spare change. Very commonly done during restorations.

Thanks Marshall....I thought the bottom paint imperfection was for a spare tire also.

Cheers
