Default F1 Startup Help

A couple of questions.. Started the truck today. Started right up, choke on to warm up. At an idle im getting a pop out of the right bank When reving it goes away a bit. but at about 1000 rpms its popping,at random almost like a backfire. My cousin said it might be a sticking exhaust valve or the condensor in the distributor. I still have to dial in the carb and timing, what would be the sequence? i need dwell and timing #s and what would be the curb idle speed be at? Running Autolites and new wires and cap. Got great oil pressure just need that get that problem resolved. Thanks Ken

I would say get the tune up to spec, and then put some of your favorite "Mechanic in a Can" (MMO, SeaFoam, etc.) in the crankcase and down the carb. If that doesn't work, I'll leave it up to the real mechanics on here.

Most important, after the tune, get it under load to seat the rings.
