Why does my engine have no star?
Replacement engine maybe? Re-stamped at factory? Worker forgot to use the star stamp? Other? |

Typical restamp. Probably done to match a title. Not done at factory or most likely any Ford dealer.

Here's what an original number should look like. It should start with an "A" and have a star at each end, and it was always stamped into the original rough cast, not a machined surface.

Probably a rebuilt engine that was installed at some point in time. As stated above, it was more than likely renumbered to match the title and they didn't have a star or A stamp .
