Default Best way to install engine

Should I attach the part that mounts the starter to engine first or to frame first?

And after you install the flywheel housing and flywheel, be sure to mount the engine in your engine stand with the front down, then dial in the flywheel cover. Check it at 9, 12, and 3 o'clock positions. It should not differ by more than .006"

I've always done them like Mitch says. The other way may work and be easier to fit between the rear mounts but the transmission and rear end would have to be removed.
