what is the best way to adjust the choke rod, close all the way clockwise, then counter about a 1/4 ?

My thought would be adjust your carb warm ,bring spark and throttle all the way close your gav all the way Off,then adjust your fuel mixture and idle so it idle the best then slowly move the gav open and adjust to improve the idlle if you have a good carb and timing is right you will have a,nice running model a
