Its been a few years since I have been on a Glidden tour. The AACA puts then on and I do enjoy them. I am taking the 39 coupe conv. this year. I wanted to take the 39 Studebaker but its not ready. We are leaving Friday for a Model T tour in Ohio. Now if I can remember where the Model T is. Which garage. I can't keep up anymore. The days go so fast any more. The day is over before I get started anymore. I guess this goes with old age.

How far do folks actually drive their old cars on these Glidden Tours? Do they trailer to a starting destination, maybe a hub hotel, and then branch out from that each day? What is the range of years for the cars on this particular tour?

John,The tours usually are about 100/150 miles per day. Most of the cars are trailered to the tour.I believe the cut off year is 1942.my only objection to the tour is the amount of cars participating.I prefer the smaller tours.Phil

I was hoping you were going on the Glidden Tour. Never know if I need a water pump down the road. I will always remember you helping me with the green 39. We will be friends always. Thanks George

I went on one Glidden - never again ! Way too many cars and I found the people to be on the "snooty" side. Most people trailered their cars and knew nothing about fixing them.
I prefer smaller tours, or going on a trip with my wife by ourselves |

" We are going on the Sentimental Tour Sept. 8 to the 12th. New Hampshire and Maine. Driving the 39 convertible sedan from Penna. Looking forward to the lobsters. G.M. "
__________________ www.fordcollector.com George, Is the Sentimental Tour a group? We went on a "sentimental" tour last week in our 46 to Maine (just Barb and I). We stopped at Walt's and I am sure he is on your itinerary. I know that you and I have taken our old Fords to Nova Scotia. Anyone else? John |

John,The sentimental tour is a AACA tour for cars 1928 thru 1957. Never been on one and from what I hear this years was "sold out" from the get-go. Phil

Phil,
Yes I checked out the AACA tour info and it is sold out. http://www.nhaaca.org/index.php/8-ho...formation-page But, doesn't look as much fun as the Maine tour that the 2 Chucks planned, No Walt Dupont and no Fantasy races https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUi551zp-pY Now that was fun! John |

John, The New England tours were really great. Chuck S. did the Vermont and New Hampshire tour. Two years later Chuck L. and his wife Karen put together the Maine tour. Both were awesome fun tours. Anyone who missed those two tours missed some really good times. Then last year Phil M. and his wife did the Northeastern Pa tour that was also a super fun time. No snooty people on those three tours... we had a blast!!

Ken you shouldn't need anymore water pumps since you have Skips. How about a tour in S.W. Florida this winter?? G.M.
