Default 8ba intake

On an 8ba intake manifold....Does one throat of the carb feed 4 cylinders and the other throat feed the other 4 cylinders? Or does the gas vapor get mixed to feed multiple cylinders? Reason for asking: 4 cylinders are black indicating rich mixture and the other 4 burn clean. Maybe one main jet is too big? Thanks

I believe you are correct each throat feeds two on each side. 1,4,6,7, and the other 2,3,5,8. Zeke

Thanks Zeke, 1,4,6,7 are the bad guys. I think I can figure out which side of the carb now.
