Not sure, the carb on my 62 Bird had them, the carb on my 65 does not.....the holes/tubes are vents for the float bowls.

Not sure why they are there. Maybe to avoid the bowls from spilling fuel over as a fire precaution, or maybe get the bowl vent opening area away from the incoming air ?

I know the brass tubes are a standard size and can be bought at hardware stores or hobby shops, then cut to length. I have made them for these carbs. Very easy.
