Default 1934 Two Tone Paint Scheme

Just wondered if Ford originally offered the different colored body and black fenders on their coupes in 1934? Thanks guys!

I believe black fenders were on all Fords, regardless of the body color, from '28 to '33. I have seen some '34's with black fenders and different body color but I don't know if that was a factory option, maybe a running change in the production year...

The v-8 Club book says " The body colors are used on the fenders of all De Luxe cars for 1934, and on the fenders of Standard green and grey cars.Black fenders are optional. Wheels on standard cars are also black." Perhaps one of the other 33'34 guys will add more info.

That book is a gold mine of well researched information and lots of pictures.
Anyone with a 33/34 or looking for one should buy the book from the Early V8 club website.
And, yes black fenders with body colors could be ordered accord to the memo.

One of the best looking '34s at Gettysburg in my opinion was the blue standard coupe with black fenders.

Black fenders on all '33s was a U.S.-only circumstance. In Canada, Ford offered optional body colored fenders (and front fender aprons, gas tank covers, and metal spare tire cover) on all deluxe body types as an extra-cost option. This is well documented in the Ford of Canada Archives.
