80 years ago this weekend.

A chopped BAR, now that's a weapon for the stout hearted!

80 years.... that's right!!!

One of my uncles carried a BAR in the South Pacific during the war. He said to me once 'I liked the weapon, but that tell tale signature sound meant that EVERY Jap rifle was trying to take me out, I sure drew a lot of return fire!!'

there is quite a lot about that on the Internet. The actual owner was some lady who had to fight the authorities in court to recover it, since apparently the parish sheriff had his eye on it. in subsequent decades the car was displayed at various state fairs etc. but of course people wondered if it was the true car or just a substitute that somebody shot to hell.

presently the car, or what is said to be the car, is in some casino in Nevada. I believe you cannot take photos of it nor get real close to it.
