Default Adjusting FlatHead Ted's Brake Floaters

Can FlatHead Ted's Brake Floaters be adjusted using the "Brake Pedal Adjusting Board" as shown in Les Andrews' Model A Ford Mechanics Handbook, page 2-4 and 2-5?

If not, how is the best way to adjust the floating brakes?

Go on flathead ted"s site and there is a video that will show you how. They are the best thing you could put on your a. Like having disc brakes.

I have Flathead's floater system on my Vic, all four wheels, including what he calls "pin" on the back wheels. I used Bratton's shoe centering tool on the back wheels to set the pins. I used a notched stick to adjust the brake rods. I originally had then set for the fronts coming in slightly ahead of the rears. I recently readjusted the brakes using the stick to have the rears come in slightly ahead of the fronts. This is the way Henry ordered them and I think I like them this way better.

To answer your question... Yes. The board sitting on the floor pressing down the pedal still works great. Mafca also sells a cd showing how to install the floaters. Pretty good watch.

You can always email Ted. Do it before YOU go to bed. By the time HE's awake in NZ, you'll have your answer back.
