Default 49 F1 steering ajustment

I have a 49 F1 pickup and I can't see an adjusting screw on it. I also have a 28 Model A with a 56 truck steering box in it so I'm familiar with the adjusting screw and lock nut. I'm wondering if a previous owner put a different box in this truck. My question is, did the 49F1 have a adjusting screw? any thoughts?

Yes, they had a sector shaft end play adjusting screw/locknut on the side toward the engine.

What I saw facing the engine what looked like a hex nut or bolt head....couldn't get a good look at it because of where it's at but the nut felt flat like it was one piece.....nothing in the middle like a adjusting screw that's what got me puzzled. Tuff to explain.

Yep, it's a closed nut to help seal the box. Like a flat acorn nut. Been awhile since I had mine off, but there is a star washer under that that is keyed to the adjusting screw and the arms of the washer lock onto a bump on the side of the box. Take off the cap nut, completely, adjust with the star washer free of the box, push the star washer against the body to lock them in position while you screw the cap nut back on. Some RTV behind the star washer, around the screw, goes a long ways towards stopping leaks.
