Default 1928 CCPU door top wood weather strip.

My CCPU came with a wood kit already fitted.

I think there should be a strip of wood fixed to the wood rail that forms the roof side / above door sections, that a rubber weather strip attaches to.

Mine has nothing there and there is an air gap above door.

This is the strip I am referring to, (Thanks to Marco )

If anyone has a better pic and dimensions of the piece, it would help.

Pooch,
I think the weatherstripping around the door, including the top you are questioning has a hollow rubber core in it. I don't know where or if that kind of weatherstripping is available. If you find a source, please post it here. I think you just remove the bottom wood piece in your picture (Marco's really) and slide in the flat part of the weatherstripping and tighten the screws holding the wood in place.

Rusty, the wood piece is not there.

I need to make them as well as find the rubber.

I was just curious as to how it looks and fits on the inside, whether it is flush with the top inside rail or whatever.

I can maybe guess the size of it.

BTW, thanks to whoever posted the tip of using an old tape measure roll for the fillers along the CCPU side gutter.

The repro fillers that came with my car fall out of the channels, they are just a tad too small, a tape measure strip fits perfect.

I have a new top wood kit that should have the pair of wood pieces you are missing. The kit I got was made by Classic Wood in NC. I believe the wood pieces are just rectangular pieces of wood - easy to make if you had the dimensions. I could dig out the box with the wood in it and measure one of the pieces if you like. My 29 CCPU had virtually all the wood missing, so I can't help with the alignment. I suspect the wood piece you are missing probably is aligned flush with the header wood on the inside, but am not sure. Dan Partain has been very helpful in answering my questions concerning my pickup. I found a couple pictures Dan sent me some time ago showing the wood piece you are referring to (see below). I am pretty sure the wood you are missing is in my wood kit. Let me know if you need the dimensions.

As far as the tape measure roll for the filler of the side gutter is concerned, I don't believe I saw the post you are referring to. If you know where it is, could you post a link to it. I am not clear about what needs to be done with it.

There is windlacing across the top of the door opening. Some details can be found at:

There is a gallery just below this link location with some additional pictures of 82-A closed cab upholstery.
