Where or who would be able to supply me with a KD valve keeper tool which makes fitting the collets on straight stem valves much easier, Its like a pair of pliers which hold the collets or keepers while you release the valve lifter . I need one as running out of fingers

These where made for side valve engines, Derek from a cool wet NZ

All you need is some sticky wheel bearing grease on the parts and they will stay put while you release the spring

Derek, I have one but, I do it like J Franklin does and use grease. I found some assembly grease for automatic transmission builders called "Dr, Tranny's assembly grease". Works great because it is very sticky and goes away after the engine is run and the first oil change.

I also have the magnetic pliers but most always use grease to hold the keeps in place.

You should be able to buy the tool from most any auto parts store or from Sears.

The tool shown below is what I use. Works great for working on A & B engines with straight stem valves. The size of the tool and design/orientation of the keepers to the valve is perfect.
Currently listed on Ebay...you see them on a regular basis under "Valve keeper tool"

That is just like the one I have been using. They work great.

Thanks guys , Because of higher spring presure was having trouble with the end two holding them on the stem while releasing the lifter , I may have found a KD one here, ,Wet again today so its in the shop for me , Guess winter is closing in . but only 3 months till Puyallup ??
