If you're running something like a 39 transmission use the Model A clutch and use the V8 pressure plate. That's what I did and it works fine.

There is a 9" version that looks the same as the later 10 inch with the flyweights on the levers --there is another 9" PP that is without the flyweights that is used on tractors and sold as a "replacement"---it will take the same heavy foot as the original A PP , the 9" V8 disc is the same as the A

Speaking of clutches, a couple weeks ago I drove a 1949 Chevy pickup. You talk about a soft clutch!!! It was like there was no pressure plate at all, yet it didn't slip a bit. For someone that wants an easy clutch pedal, that's the one to adapt to the Model A.

Model A times had an article about a diaphragm pressure plate. Vol 6 issue 2.

It has low effort pedal, works with throw out bearing.Really good clutch.

Joe Way used a LUK brand Number 0029.

Looked interesting

1946-1948 Long style clutch is what you are looking for. 9 inch. Has flyweights to add pressure at speed. Avoid the Ford tractor clutch without the flyweights.

Ask for a 1940 Ford PP, you can also use a tractor clutch, available new but I don't think they have the weighted fingers, important if the engine has added horsepower. Consider a diaphram clutch, as John in IL suggested.
