Default Nuts, Bolts and (Lock) Washers...

Most of us who have been in this hobby long enough has a good or even great collection of original Model A nuts, bolts and washers.

Most nuts and bolts can be used again and again but those pesky washers and it is the lockwashers for which I am talking about.

I tend to shy away from the original lockwashers because so many of them brake or are on the verge of brakeing.

That being said, we have about three different "shades" of lockwashers...plain, raven, and cadmium used in our restorations.

Just where can one get a good selection of new lock washers in the sizes that are most widely used and in the shades of plain, raven and cadmium?

Surely you fine point guys out there know.

Thanks.

If you don't have time to do it right the 1st time, how do you have time to do it the 2nd time?

Steve
a lot of the original lock washers have knurling on them and different types at that.
NO one makes the correct lock washers. you really should the originals. they break now and then but they do work.

About 7 years ago Fleet Farm stocked all the lock washer bins with knurled outside edge lock washers. It only lasted a couple months and was then back to the plain lock washers. I grabbed a bunch of each size, but should have bought much more.
