The only radiator shop I know of is Pankys in Hayward. I have not used them personally.

You can buy the glass for your Model A at Sacramento Vintage Ford. They also have glass with the "XXX" and Ford etched into it just like it came from the factory (almost).

Look for a glass shop that's been around for a long time and/or use the tellyphone. I used to have "new" glass cut at the junkyard, they had the patterns and expertise, but that was a long time ago.

There is a radiator shop in San Carlos, I was planning to use them, but bought a new radiator. For glass, last time, I called Roy Brisio's shop in SSF and Dave sent me to a semi-retired guy in Hayward or San Leandro, who works out of his home, but I recall that he has old patterns.

Hard to find a lot of the specialty trades in the Bay area nowadays. Used to be a radiator shop a couple miles away, but now it is a fancy cookware shop.

If you are in the NOrth Bay, Dutton Radiator in Santa Rosa, 707 526-6500, did good work for me.
For glass, try Van Koonse Glass also in Santa Rosa 707 542-7432, has a lot of classic patterns, don't know if he has A stuff.
Both advertise in the club newsletter so should have knowledge of As.

Thank you guys! Appreciate you all.
Yea there getting rid of any radiator shops left. And heard of a radiator place in tracy. and Glass shop on wilson way in stockton. Stockton auto glass.

Thought of Sacramento vintage ford too,and pankeys is good option. I'd like a place that has the model a patterns. and maybe a radiator shop thatd sell me a core by itself?

I'll phone up Brizio, and also maybe dominators in tracy. Thank you guys for your help, much appreciated.

If you want to buy just the core you can buy it from Berg's radiator in Illinois. I bought the 28-9 round tube core just in case I need it someday.

Well, if you're OK with traveling into the valley, there is a radiator shop in Modesto that does Model A radiators, and does excellent work. I have one and a lot of Model As around here sport one of his radiators up front. They never overheat. He will also recore them with as many tubes and fins as you request.

Sorry I didn;t see this earlier.

Here's the info for the radiator guy in Modesto that does Model A radiators-

Address: 528 12th Street Modesto, CA 95354
Phone: (209) 523-6617
Fax: (209) 523-6667
Email: [email protected]
Shop Owner: Mike Ascencio

I don't know of any shop in Tracy that does Model A radiators specifically. The problem is (ask me how I know) that just "any" radiator shop with tell you "Oh, yea.. We can do Model A radiators" yet they just assume it is like any other radiator. The fact is, the radiator in a Model A has to be exact in dimentions for your front end to fit correctly. If one bracket is off by a smidgen, then your front end will never go together properly or straight. Mike knows Model A radiators very well, and makes sure that when he recores a radiator or reworks one, that everything is exactly where it needs to be so your car goes together properly.
